Background information on Riona
Hi! I'm Riona, Chartered Physiotherapist, Mum to 4 small boys and general medical geek! I have a special interest in neck and shoulder pain, and focused a lot of my Masters Degree on this area as a result. I am also passionate about helping and empowering new mums and mums to be, and helping them navigate the journey to health and wellbeing during and after pregnancy.
I believe in providing treatment based on the most up to date research, and am constantly involved in post graduate courses and learning. I stay involved with research, and having completed recent research with the University of Limerick and Middlesex University in London, I am now involved with UCC investigating shoulder pain.
I have a number of post graduate qualifications:
Masters in Musculoskletal Medicine
Diploma in Advanced Practise in Orthopaedic Medicine
Certificate in Spinal Manual Therapy
Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine
Post graduate qualifications in women's health and incontinence treatment
And a multitude of diverse courses, from knee and hip pain, to treating fragility in the elderly.
My aim is to help you be the best version of you and to help you live your life with mobility and function.
